Legal Assistant - Private Client (Denver)

Taft is seeking a Private Client Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team of legal professionals in our Denver office.

Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Legal Assistant with excellent editing, organizational, and coordination skills to join our Private Client team. Legal Assistants partner with attorneys and paralegals to deliver exceptional client service by performing a variety of legal and administrative tasks, including managing records, projects, and calendars to ensure effective workflows and efficient coordination of client materials. Strong candidates should possess a broad range of skills, including close attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, and an independent drive to problem-solve, anticipate follow-up tasks, and push projects to completion.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor, prioritize, organize, and facilitate daily workflow to meet project deadlines. This includes all administrative tasks including fielding client phone calls, scheduling meetings, calendar management, processing expense reimbursements, etc.
- Act as liaison for attorneys and all office service departments, including Accounting, Business Development, IT, and Docketing & Records.
- Assist with preparation of cover letters and making edits to and proofreading correspondence, contracts, agreements, and other complex documents in draft and in final form.
- Maintain client materials on Document Management System (DMS) as determined by attorney and paralegal.
- Prepare, submit, and maintain weekly time records.
- Set up, maintain, and ensure that files are kept current including classifying, arranging files, filing, and storing information.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years of legal secretarial experience is preferred.
- Exceptionally strong organizational skills and work ethic in delivering client products promptly.
- Ability to organize, prioritize and multi-task, while working effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Ability to think creatively and work independently.
- Ability to establish good rapport with attorneys, clients, and other staff.
- Ability to proofread a variety of documents with high attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Proficient in using software systems such as Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), DMS/iManage Desksite, Elite, Workshare Compare, and Adobe.

The salary range for this position is $28.26/hr – $37.50/hr. Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted information based on work experience, education, and/or skill level.
