Client Compliance Coordinator

Taft is currently seeking a Client Compliance Coordinator to support our Client & Innovation Office.
This role is intended for a motivated individual with an apt for and interest in contributing to an evolving area of work supporting firm processes and the operations of a rapidly growing law firm. The individual hired in this role will be primarily responsible for supporting the firm’s client compliance initiatives and goals, which include tracking, preparing, and timely submitting the firm’s responses to client questionnaires and audits and supporting internal firm processes and procedures. The Client Compliance Coordinator will work closely with several operations departments and functions, and relationship partners, to understand client requirements presented in Outside Counsel Guidelines, Requests for Proposals, and client questionnaires and audits, and assist Client Compliance Counsel to implement any needed operational processes in order to adhere to those requirements. This will be an evolving position. Initial responsibilities include the following, subject to growth based on interest level and proficiency:
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare and monitor deadlines and timelines related to client compliance requests.
- Ensure timely, effective, and complete responses to client questionnaires and audits, by working with the impacted operations teams and utilizing appropriate Generative AI platforms and other internal applications, as needed.
- Ensure recurring client requests, outlined in Outside Counsel Guidelines or client questionnaires, are met through coordination with Client Compliance Counsel, the impacted operations teams, relationship partners and/or billing attorneys.
- Document regular processes, procedures, or tasks needed to ensure timely and complete client questionnaires and fulfill other client compliance requests.
- Compile client questionnaire frequent responses for future use to ensure consistency and best practices.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of the firm’s organizational structure, policies, and procedures, to support client questionnaire and audit responses.
- Identify and raise up client requirements in questionnaires and audits which may require operational adjustments by the firm in order to adhere.
- Ensure new and updated client requirements (Outside Counsel Guidelines and other documents) are obtained from billing platforms and presented for review by General Counsel’s Office.
- Assist in implementation of firm processes and procedures, including any modifications intended to ensure continued operational compliance with client requirements, and develop and execute on various processes to ensure effective implementation, including but not limited to quality review and confirmations, in coordination with Client Compliance Counsel and other internal stakeholders, as needed.
- Navigate and obtain reporting from the firm’s platform storing Outside Counsel Guidelines and billing systems, among other internal applications.
- Complete other administrative tasks, as needed.
Requirements:
- Experience working in a legal department, professional services, and/or law firm setting.

Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Two or more years working in a legal or professional services setting.
- Prior experience in a legal operations and/or legal project management role.
