Paul focuses his practice on patent preparation and prosecution in multiple technology art areas, including mechanical, electrical, electronic, computer and physics.
Paul’s experience ranges from simple components to complex systems, specifically including electric motors and motor control systems; power generation, transmission and switchgear systems; gas turbine and internal combustion engine systems and components; transmission systems; fuel cell systems; agricultural/forestry/industrial work machines; hybrid vehicle drive trains; hydraulic systems; valve systems; control systems generally; materials science; biomedical devices and systems; ink jet and laser printer mechanical and electrical/electronic systems; printer driver software; firmware; electronic chip design, manufacturing and logic; image processing, gamut mapping and color science; optics; lock mechanisms; sensor systems; navigation systems; and satellite digital communication systems.
Paul received his B.S., summa cum laude, in mechanical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He earned his J.D. from Indiana University McKinney School of Law. Prior to private practice, Paul held various engineering positions for 16 years with GE Aviation/General Electric Aircraft Engines and Rolls-Royce Corporation/Allison Gas Turbine. He was awarded the Crime Fighter of the Year 2007 in Cumberland, Ind. Paul has served as a member of the board of directors and membership secretary of the Indianapolis chapter of the international cultural organization Alliance Française since 2009.
