Marina serves as of counsel in the Real Estate group. Prior to joining Taft in 2022, she served as an associate general counsel at DePaul University in Chicago.
Marina received her J.D. in 2015 from DePaul University College of Law, and graduated magna cum laude and Order of the Coif. She served as Volume 64 editor of the DePaul Law Review. Marina received the CALI Award for Excellence, given to the student with the highest grade in a class, in the following categories:
- Legal Drafting
- Trial Advocacy
- Fact Investigations
- Business Organizations
Upon graduating from law school, Marina was selected to participate in General Electric’s Denniston Fellowship, an innovative, practical initiative seeking to change the face of the legal profession, as the inaugural Fellow. In her role, Marina served as in-house counsel for the corporation’s transportation division. Following her time at GE, Marina was a litigation associate at Sidley Austin, LLP.
Marina earned a bachelor of arts degree from DePaul University in 2011, graduating magna cum laude. She majored in international studies and political science. Marina participated in the mock trial program and was a member of the Pi Sigma Alpha Society. At Georgetown University, she participated in the Capital Semester Program, Public Policy Track in 2010. Marina earned the academic award for excellence in economics. She also served as a summer intern for the U.S. Department of Education, APEC Division in 2010.
