David S. Schindelheim

Associate Cleveland


David focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, securities transactions and general corporate matters. He has represented private equity and strategic clients on a variety of domestic and cross-border acquisitions, divestitures and financings. David regularly counsels corporate clients on legal, strategic and commercial issues affecting their businesses.

Prior to joining Taft, David served as a corporate legal assistant in the New York and Paris offices of a large, global law firm. While in law school, he was a legal extern at BTG Pactual, a multinational investment banking firm, and Constellation Wealth Advisors, an independent wealth advisor.

David received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University and earned his J.D., cum laude, from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he served as an articles editor on the Cardozo Journal of International and Comparative Law. He serves on the ambassador committee of The First Tee of Cleveland, an international organization that teaches life skills to youth through the game of golf. David is a member of the firm’s Associate Advisory Group and is actively involved in Taft’s knowledge management and summer associate programs. David was selected in 2018 to participate in the Downtown Cleveland Alliance Advocates Program, a two-year civic program for rising leaders in the downtown Cleveland community.
