Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP is pleased to announce the creation of The Mid-American Regional Center (TMARC), an independent firm that will help businesses through the entire EB-5 process and promote job creation. To our knowledge, TMARC is the only regional center approved by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) that is also affiliated with a major law firm. TMARC’s focus is job creation, specifically in Indiana, and helping Indiana companies launch, grow and expand their operations.
The EB-5 program was created by the United States Congress in the early 1990s to stimulate the U.S. economy through job creation and capital investment by foreign investors. The program allows foreign investors to obtain permanent residency status for themselves and their immediate family members by investing in a “new commercial enterprise” that creates at least 10 new, full-time jobs for U.S. workers.
“TMARC is a great addition to Taft’s group of affiliated businesses. Our clients will benefit greatly from the ability to work with experienced professionals focused on assisting Midwest companies with start-up and/or expansion capital through the EB-5 program,” said Robert J. Hicks, partner-in-charge of Taft's Indianapolis office.
TMARC has already exhibited success by recently signing its first deal to sponsor an EB-5 project and is in the process of vetting additional projects.
The Mid-American Regional Center (TMARC) has the experience, knowledge and relationships to handle the entire EB-5 process, assisting both foreign investors and recipient businesses. Unlike many other regional centers whose managers are inexperienced in regulatory environments, TMARC, together with Taft, has the experience to successfully navigate the complexities involved in every EB-5 transaction and related matters.
