Shiffman Joins the Firm
Alexander Shiffman recently joined the firm as an associate in the firm's Tax, Real Estate, and Mergers & Acquisitions practice groups. Shiffman will concentrate his practice on advising clients in complex tax-driven transactions, with a focus on the areas of real estate and private equity investment.
From 2016 to 2018, Shiffman served as an associate at Paul Hastings LLP in New York, where he focused on leveraged finance, capital markets, and M&A matters. Previously, he served as a summer associate at the firm where he focused on a variety of transactional matters, in addition to participating in the firm's special interest committee on the legal implications of equity-based crowdfunding. He also served as a summer analyst and intern at the Liberty SBF in Wynnewood, Penn. where he gained experience in commercial real estate finance and lending.
Alex earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York, where he wrote for the Cardozo Public Law, Policy & Ethics Journal. He also earned a Master of Laws degree in taxation from New York University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich.
