McGrady to Present on ICANN’s Next Round of New gTLDs
Taft partner Paul McGrady will present “ICANN’s Next Round of New gTLDs – Getting Your .brand and Your Team Ready,” at the Midwest IP Institute on Sept. 24. The two-day summit will be presented virtually.
During the seminar, McGrady will share his insights into timing, business case, and process for new gTLDs, focusing on .brands. His presentation will also touch on preventing a third party from obtaining a registry consisting of your brand name, as well as the pitfalls of the application process, and the expenses tied with ongoing registry operations. McGrady represents large brands and small and medium-sized enterprises in the United States and around the world focusing on domain name matters. He also counsels clients on the intellectual property aspects of social and mobile media as well as traditional trademarks matters. He was recently named to the Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO) Council representing the Non-Contracted Parties House for the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).
