Five New Attorneys Join Taft's Cincinnati Office

Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP is pleased to announce that five attorneys have joined the firm’s Cincinnati office.

Christian Diederich focuses his practice on corporate governance, lending and finance, mergers and acquisitions and venture capital. Christian earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School, where he focused on developing practical skills and serving clients. Through the Harvard Law Entrepreneurship Project, he led a team of students and attorneys to advise entrepreneurs at Harvard Business School. As a member of the Harvard Immigration Project and Immigration Response Initiative, Christian worked closely with the American Civil Liberties Union to litigate high-profile immigration matters on behalf of immigrant and refugee groups.

Prior to law school, Christian graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Cincinnati with a B.A. in German Studies and certificate in Media Studies.

Kenneth A. Foisy previously served as a court-appointed counsel to the Securities Investor Protection Act (SIPA) Trustee for the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC (BLMIS), an unprecedented recovery effort involving hundreds of actions. His experience includes active discovery and document review in preparing evidence supporting the SIPA Trustee’s claims against defendants, and working to respond to document requests from defendants.

Ken received his J.D. from Northern Kentucky University Salmon P. Chase College of Law and a B.S. from Eastern Michigan University. 

Christine C. Kommer focuses her practice on employment matters. She has experience representing employers in federal and state courts, administrative agencies and private employment arbitrations in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, California, Alaska, North Carolina, Delaware, Tennessee, Hawaii, New York, Texas, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Puerto Rico in employment discrimination claims of all types. These include Title VII, FMLA, ADAA, ADEA and FLSA, as well as whistleblower actions and ERISA litigation. She has significant experience providing employment counseling to private employers across a range of industries regarding all aspects of the employment relationship, including equal opportunity practices and policies, employee discipline and termination, employee investigations and complaints, wage and hour issues, best employment practices, reductions in force and WARN Act issues, workplace violence, employment contracts and non-compete and trade secret issues.

Christine has also conducted employment investigations, successfully handled settlement negotiations and mediation, and drafted and implemented employment policies of all types. Christine received her J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law, where she was an associate editor of the Northwestern Law Review, and her undergraduate degree from Duke University.

Prior to joining Taft, Christine served as Executive Director – Senior Legal Counsel for AT&T, one of the world’s largest telecommunications companies, and was an associate in the Labor & Employment Group of McGuireWoods LLP’s Chicago office.

David A. Lopez-Kurtz focuses his practice on representation of entrepreneurs and companies on all aspects of business formation, fundraising, commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions and regulatory compliance.

David graduated with a B.A. in philosophy from Ohio University and pursued an A.A.B. in Culinary Arts from Hocking College. David earned his J.D., magna cum laude and Order of the Coif from the University of Cincinnati College of Law. During law school, David was founder of the Latino/a Law Students Association (LaLSA) chapter at UC Law, Chairman of the Student Law Education Council (SLEC) and contributing editor of University of Cincinnati Law Review.

Prior to joining Taft, David was a summer associate and law clerk with the firm and a program assistant for the Center for Race, Gender, and Social Justice (CRGSJ).

Cindy J. Moore concentrates her practice on­­­ litigation matters. She is experienced in advising corporate entities in environmental and mass tort litigation, as well as intellectual property matters. Cindy has trial experience in state court, where she represented a minority shareholder in a jury trial, which received a favorable resolution for the client.

Cindy earned her J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law and a B.A. from Miami University. During law school, she served as the executive editor of the Intellectual Property and Computer Law Journal and as president of the Black Law Student Association. Additionally, she served as a judicial intern for the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
