Anne L. Cowgur Joins Taft's Litigation and Labor and Employment Practice Groups

INDIANAPOLIS, IN  — Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP is pleased to announce that Anne L. Cowgur has joined the firm’s Indianapolis office as a partner in its Litigation and Labor and Employment practice groups.

“We are excited to have Anne join us as a partner,” said Robert J. Hicks, partner-in-charge of Taft’s Indianapolis office. “She has outstanding litigation skills, a large depth of experience, and will be a great addition to Taft.”

Cowgur focuses her practice in the areas of appellate, business litigation, labor and employment, and media law. She has extensive experience as a trial lawyer with cases including claims of access to public records; administrative disputes; securities and investment fraud; corporate governance disputes; breaches of fiduciary duties by directors, officers, shareholders and partners; defending accountants and lawyers against claims of professional negligence; utility regulation litigation; defending claims of employment discrimination, commercial fraud claims; employment, covenant not to compete and trade secret matters; and a variety of contract and business tort disputes. Cowgur has been named an Indiana Super Lawyer in the area of appellate practice and has argued cases before the Indiana Court of Appeals, Indiana Supreme Court and various United States Courts of Appeals.

Cowgur received her B.A., summa cum laude, from the University of Illinois in 1992. She earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1999. Cowgur serves on the Indianapolis Bar Association’s Executive Committee for the Litigation Section and Women in Law Division.
