Paralegal - Public Finance

Taft is seeking a paralegal to support the Public Finance practice group in our Minneapolis office.

We are seeking a paralegal with 3+ years of experience to support our Public Finance practice group in our Minneapolis office. All Taft employees operate under a “Client First” philosophy — in all things, we seek to provide exceptional services to our clients. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordination of preliminary proceedings
  • Drafting of resolutions, documents and certificates in connection with tax-exempt financings
  • Supervision of document organization and coordinating documents for closing and post-closing
  • Drafting general obligation bond transactions
  • Tax abatement
  • Tax increment financing
  • Industrial development and hospital bonds and notes
  • Preparing drafts of preliminary election proceedings and improvement proceedings
  • Compiling and organizing forms for department use
  • Preparing various federal and state filings
  • Assist with developing and executing strategies to resolve matters favorably, efficiently, and cost-effectively for clients
  • Perform other duties to ensure that clients receive the best and most cost-effective legal solutions


  • 2 years legal experience necessary
  • 3+ years related experience preferred 
  • General understanding and knowledge of state and local government financing preferred
  • Experience drafting complex documents preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Sound judgment, including the ability to identify and escalate issues
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, solve problems, and meet deadlines
