Paralegal - Bankruptcy (Phoenix)

Taft is currently seeking a paralegal to join our Litigation/Bankruptcy team in Taft’s Phoenix office.
We are seeking a paralegal with 3+ years’ experience to support to our Litigation/Bankruptcy team in our Phoenix office. Litigation paralegals serve attorneys and clients by providing administrative and specialized support to attorneys. All Taft employees operate under a “Client First” philosophy — in all things, we seek to provide exceptional services to our clients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Displays strong attention to detail as well as critical thinking.
- Proactively supports attorneys.
- Responds to requests with a sense of urgency and effectively prioritizes work.
- Edits and proofreads documents for accuracy and compliance with applicable federal and state statutes and local rules.
- Proactively monitors deadlines.
- Proactively manages and monitors cases, notifying attorney of actions needed.
- Clearly communicates in a concise, professional manner.
- Files documents with the courts electronically.
- Drafts documents and filings.

- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Sound judgment, including the ability to identify and escalate issues.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with, and follow instructions from, diverse individuals and to provide information with courtesy and tact in person, over the telephone and in writing.
- Ability to reason and apply common sense understanding to resolve problems and carry out instructions furnished verbally or in writing.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide and perform arithmetic functions normally needed to calculate dates.
Requirements:
- 3+ years’ of related experience in a law firm or legal setting.
- Formal paralegal training from an accredited college or ABA-approved program, preferably a four-year degree program, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient command of the English language and standard grammar rules.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
