Legal Assistant - Public Finance (Reno)

Taft is seeking a legal assistant to support the Public Finance team in our Reno office.
We are seeking a legal assistant to support our Public Finance team in the Reno office. All Taft employees operate under a “Client First” philosophy—in all things, we seek to provide exceptional services to our clients.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Edits and proofreads complex documents, including proactive review for, and ability to relay, relevant discrepancies/inconsistencies.
- Actively supports the billing process to include printing BIMs, preparing template bills, and finalizing and sending bills.
- Independently performs administrative duties such as proofreading, editing, and releasing attorney time entries; registering, calendaring, and reporting Continuing Legal Education credits; requesting and following up on reimbursements and other related tasks.
- Prepares and reviews letters and memoranda according to Firm standards using word processing and document management systems.
- Exhibits outstanding client service orientation in greeting guests, scheduling meetings, and conducting telephone conferences.
- Displays a strong attention to detail.
- Anticipates what tasks are needed and proactively performs them as appropriate.
- Responds to requests with a sense of urgency; effectively monitors deadlines and prioritizes work accordingly.
- Demonstrates flexibility and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Creates, maintains, and retires files in accordance with Taft’s Information Governance Policy.
- Assists in managing client contacts, emails, and print documents as well as processing mail.
- Clearly communicates in a concise, professional manner.
Requirements:
- 2+ years’ legal assistant experience preferred.
- Demonstrated proficient command of the English language, syntax, and standard grammar rules.
- Demonstrated strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Demonstrated excellent communication and writing skills.
- Ability to adapt to workplace stressors and competing priorities.
- Must maintain confidentiality of client information.
- Must show strong attention to detail and ability to manage and monitor multiple projects.
- Must exhibit excellent interpersonal skills.

The salary range for this position is $28.36/hr. – $37.50/hr.. Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted information based on work experience, education, and/or skill level.
