Document Specialist (Dayton)

Taft is currently seeking a document specialist to serve our team in Taft’s Dayton office.

We are seeking a document specialist to support our team in the Dayton office. All Taft employees operate under a “Client First” philosophy—in all things, we seek to provide exceptional services to our clients. This is an entry-level position.

Essential Duties:

  • Enters time and drafts bills for attorneys.
  • Drafts and edits a variety of legal documents.
  • Maintains paper and electronic files.
  • Opens and closes client matters/files.
  • Manages physical mail for attorneys.
  • Provides back-up coverage for receptionist.
  • Answers phones and takes messages.
  • Assists attorneys in managing client contacts and emails.
  • Provides other general office tasks as requested.


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), Nuance PDF Converter, and Document Management software.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Sort time-management, organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, meet strict deadlines and respond in a timely manner.
  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or one to two years of related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • One to two years of related work experience in a professional service firm preferred.
