Summary

Garrett is an attorney in Taft’s Intellectual Property practice group in Indianapolis. He advises clients at each step of building, maintaining, and protecting their intellectual property (IP) portfolios. His practice focuses on trademark and copyright prosecution, trademark clearance, IP enforcement and litigation, WIPO UDRP proceedings, sweepstakes law, and the right of publicity. Garrett’s work ranges from helping his clients select and file trademarks to handling complex IP litigation and TTAB matters. He also has experience drafting and administering IP licenses for clients and assisting in preparing IP valuation reports for tax purposes, assessing civil damages, and transactional purposes.

Prior to joining Taft, Garrett was an attorney at another regional firm where he focused his practice on trademark prosecution and IP litigation.

Garrett earned his J.D., cum laude, from the Indiana University Bloomington Maurer School of Law and his bachelor’s degree in English from Butler University. While in law school, Garrett was a Managing Editor for the Indiana Journal of Law and Social Equality and received top grades in Trademarks and Conflict of Laws.
