Continued Media Coverage of Bilott's Work Regarding Chemical Pollutants in Drinking Water

Taft partner Robert A. Bilott was quoted in additional publications regarding the recent verdict against chemical giant DuPont.

On Jan. 5, 2017, a U.S. jury in Ohio ordered DuPont to pay an additional $10.5 million in punitive damages, plus attorney fees, to a man who developed cancer from exposure to a carcinogenic chemical released from a DuPont plant. The amount is in addition to the $2 million the jury already awarded the plaintiff in compensatory damages. This is the third and largest verdict that jurors in the Columbus, Ohio, federal court multi-district litigation proceedings have issued against DuPont for injuries linked to the chemical PFOA. Bilott serves as co-lead counsel for the Plaintiff's Steering Committee handling the litigation against DuPont.
