Cincinnati, OH – State Representative William J. Seitz, partner at the law firm of Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP, was recently elected by the Ohio House of Representatives to the position of Assistant Majority Whip, fifth in line to its top leadership position, Speaker of the House. Representative Seitz will now be a part of the House Speaker Jon Husted's Leadership Team.
Representative Seitz is a partner in the Litigation Department of the law firm, practicing in the antitrust area. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Cincinnati in 1975 and from the University of Cincinnati School of Law in 1978.
Seitz had co-chaired the Majority Caucus Policy Committee before the recent election, and will still serve on the House Civil & Commercial Law, Criminal Justice, Commerce & Labor, and Ways & Means Committees. He previously served as chair of the House Civil and Commercial Law Committee, Banking, Pensions and Securities; Municipal Government and Urban Revitalization, and the Health and Human Services and Public Utilities Committees. He previously served for seven years as a Green Township trustee and for four years as a member of the Cincinnati Public School Board. He is honored with inclusion for the last three years in the Cincinnati Magazine listing of Ohio Super Lawyers and was listed in 2005 in Woodward/White's The Best Lawyers in America.
