April 7, 2009
As of April 3, 2009, U.S. employers must now use a revised version of Form I-9 to verify employment eligibility. In addition to changes in the list of documents that the employer may accept for verification of employment eligibility, the new form requires that all such documents be unexpired. The previous Form I-9 is no longer acceptable for either new verifications or reverifications.
