Keith Berlin and Kate Shelby Join Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP

INDIANAPOLIS, IN--Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP announces Keith Berlin and Kate Shelby have joined the downtown Indianapolis office as associates effective September 2, 2008. Mr. Berlin is a member of the firm’s Real Estate Group and Ms. Shelby joined the Environmental Group. Both were summer associates at the firm in 2007.
Mr. Berlin received a B.A. in Psychology from Southern Illinois University in 2005 with a minor in Administration of Justice. He earned his juris doctorate, summa cum laude, from Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis in May 2008, where he was the Editor-in-Chief of the Indiana Law Review, a Moot Court participant, a tutor of Civil Procedure and Criminal Law for the Dean's Tutorial Society, and active in the school’s Pro Bono program. He received the Lefstein Award for his pro bono service and the Faculty Prize for service to the law school. Mr. Berlin was a Federal Court Judicial Extern for Judge Tinder in 2006.
Ms. Shelby received a B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in Law and Society, with minors in Forensic Science and Psychology from Purdue University in 2004. She earned her juris doctorate, summa cum laude, from Indiana University School of Law—Indianapolis in May 2008, where she was the Executive Notes Editor of the Indiana Law Review, a Moot Court participant, a Property Law tutor for the Dean’s Tutorial Society, and a recipient of the Gold Award for her Pro Bono service. Ms. Shelby is a member of the US Patent Bar, having passed the Patent Bar Exam in August 2006. Also in 2006, she spent the summer working at the Marion County Prosecutors' Office, where she gave a lecture regarding DNA evidence.
