June 18, 2008

Columbus, OH, June 18, 2008 – Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP continues to build its Workers’ Compensation practice by adding new attorney, Sue A. Wetzel. She joins Robert W. Myers, partner in the Columbus office, who came to Taft in 2007 to build and solidify the firm’s overall Workers’ Compensation practice.

“We represent employers throughout the State of Ohio, before the Industrial Commission as well as the Common Pleas and Appellate Courts,” said Myers. “Our focus in this area is unique to our practice, and sets us apart.” Myer’s previous experience extends to the Ohio Attorney General’s office, where he represented the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation and Industrial Commission in litigation before the Ohio Courts.

Taft’s Workers’ Compensation practice in Columbus is part of an overall Workers’ Compensation practice, encompassing all Taft Ohio offices. “At Taft, we represent Fortune 500 companies as well as small and family-owned businesses,” continued Myers. “As we continue to grow this important area of law for Taft, adding Sue to the firm strengthens our Workers’ Compensation presence.”

Wetzel, an associate, is a member of the Labor & Employment department with broad experience in Workers' Compensation issues. Before joining Taft, she was the sole Workers' Compensation practitioner for Perez & Morris in Columbus. She also served as the Assistant Attorney General of the Workers' Compensation section of the Attorney General's Office of Ohio, where she provided legal representation for the Bureau of Worker's Compensation and Industrial Commission.

Myers focuses his practice on representing both state-funded and self-insured employers before the Industrial Commission of Ohio and various Ohio courts on issues involving allowance and compensability of workers’ compensation claims. Before joining Taft, Myers was a partner for 10 years at Thompson Hine LLP and an Assistant Attorney General for four years prior to that.
