Taft Attorney Ellerman to Chair Cincinnati Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section

Cincinnati, OH, May 15, 2008 – Paige L. Ellerman, an associate in the Litigation Department at Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP, will serve as Chair of the Cincinnati Bar Association's Young Lawyers Section (YLS). The YLS is open to every member of the Cincinnati Bar Association who is under age 36 or in his/ her first five years of practice, regardless of age. Programs and services are geared toward the professional and personal development of new/young lawyers.
“I consider this leadership role a wonderful opportunity, and plan to focus on providing the programming and support that members want,” said Ellerman. “As Chair, I also serve on the CBA Board of Trustees and the Cincinnati Bar Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the CBA.”
Partnering with the Cincinnati Bar Association, the YLS is committed to serving the Greater Cincinnati community. Community service programs organized and supported by the YLS include:
Ellerman is a member of the Business Restructuring and Creditor Rights Practice of Taft. Additionally, she serves as the president of the Board of Governors of Salmon P. Chase College of Law Alumni Association and as the National Administrative District Director for the Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity for Women, Inc. Ellerman is past president of The Yearlings, Inc. For the past three years, she has been selected by Cincinnati Magazine as a Super Lawyers Rising Star and as a 2006 Ohio Rising Star by Law & Politics and Cincinnati Magazine. Ellerman is also a member of the firm's Professional Women’s Resource Group.

- Mentoring program. The YLS has partnered with the Cincinnati Youth Collaborative (CYC) to help improve the lives of a select group of high school students in Cincinnati’s public schools.
- Advocacy Series. In this two-part series, seasoned litigators demonstrate various pre-trial and trial skills, while also offering advice based on their own practice experience.
- Mock Trial. Now in its 26th year, this competition helps high school students across Hamilton County learn invaluable, hands-on skills about the legal system. It is funded through the Cincinnati Bar Foundation's Quid Pro Am Golf Outing.
- Run for Kids. This annual 5K fitness run/walk raises money to support the efforts of ProKids, a local non-profit working on behalf of abused children in the Hamilton County court system.
