Thomas Appointed to the Commission on the Rules of Practice and Procedure

The Supreme Court of Ohio has appointed Taft Columbus partner David Thomas to the Commission on the Rules of Practice and Procedure in Ohio Courts. Thomas will also serve as vice-chair for the Evidence Rules subcommittee. His three-year term began Jan. 1, 2024.

The Commission on Rules of Practice and Procedure is established by the Supreme Court to assist the Court in exercising the rule-making powers granted in Article IV, Section 5(B), of the Ohio Constitution. The Commission is responsible for reviewing all rules governing practice and procedure in Ohio courts, receiving and considering proposed rules or amendments, and recommending rules and amendments to the Supreme Court.

Thomas is a partner in Taft’s Compliance, Investigations, and White Collar Defense practice group. He advises and represents companies, executives, public officials, health care providers, and other professionals who are the subject of state and federal investigations and prosecutions.

Thomas is also a fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers and is listed in Chambers USA as a leading lawyer in white-collar crime and government investigations.
