One of the ways in which we support women in leadership positions at our firm and in the business community at large is through our Professional Women's Resource Group (PWRG).
In acknowledgment of the growing and dynamic women's business and professional community in the Greater Cincinnati area, in 1996 we established the Professional Women's Resource Group (PWRG). Its goals are to strengthen existing relationships with women clients who own or manage businesses or other organizations, and to forge new and continuing relationships with professional and executive women in our community. Taft was the first major law firm in Cincinnati to establish a group such as this.
We meet the above goals by providing networking and educational opportunities for business women of diverse backgrounds, and by promoting a forum for the sharing of ideas and discussion of common interests.
One of PWRG's most popular offerings is our "Women in Leadership" quarterly breakfast forum where outstanding women in business serve as guest speakers on a wide variety of topics. Women from all kinds of businesses and professions attend these informative sessions for the practical information they gain, as well as the opportunity to network.
Summer associates, those law school students who elect to spend part or all of their summer at Taft, will find the PWRG an opportunity for camaraderie through the group sponsored golf outings, happy hours and other social events. PWRG also provides valuable mentoring experience for both young associates new to the firm and law school students.
The members of the Professional Women's Resource Group cross all lines of practice within the firm. This multi-disciplinary group can provide the support, expertise and advice that women business and professional leaders may require to enable them to safeguard and grow their businesses, departments, organizations, careers and personal interests.
