SCOTT M. DORAN has over twenty years experience working with industry, small business and individuals to facilitate cost-effective compliance with state and federal environmental laws. His practice in the Environmental Law area includes representing clients in all aspects of state and federal permitting and permit appeals, the defense of enforcement actions, rulemaking, environmental regulation of land use, Brownfields redevelopment, hazardous waste regulation, CERCLA cost recovery claims, corporate transactions and environmental risk allocation, and toxic tort and property damage claims. Mr. Doran has been recognized by his peers and clients for excellence in the environmental law practice by Ohio Super Lawyers and Chambers USA. Mr. Doran is actively representing landowners, producers, and mid-stream companies in the development, processing, and transportation of oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids from the Marcellus and Utica Shales.

• While serving as outside counsel for the Ohio Home Builders Association and working with related development companies and trade associations, participated in the Governor’s task force for improvement of Ohio’s stream and wetland permitting program.
• Obtained a multiparty settlement with the State of Ohio to address groundwater contamination in Urbana, Ohio
• Established and continue to represent the Ohio Wetlands Foundation, a statewide wetland mitigation bank
• Resolution of state and federal natural resource permitting for 1,000 acre commercial, office and residential development
