Born on February 16, 1929, Mr. Bridgeland received his B.A. (mcl) from the University of Akron in 1951, an M.A. from Harvard University in 1955 and a J.D. from Harvard in 1957. He also has training in literature from Oxford and Cambridge Universities. He was with the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1953, serving as an officer during the Korean War.
Mr. Bridgeland and his wife, the former Margaret Bates, live in Indian Hill, Ohio. They have four daughters and a son.
