CATHERINE T. DUNLAY is a co-chair of Taft's Health and Life Sciences Practice. Her practice is devoted to representation of hospitals, physicians and other health care organizations and professionals in mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and contractual arrangements, including a variety of hospital physician relationships. She also counsels clients on operational and compliance matters, including Anti-Kickback and Stark physician self-referral laws, and Medicare and Medicaid coverage and reimbursement issues. She has served as counsel in a variety of transactions, including purchase/sale of hospital and freestanding facilities, acquisition of physician practices, formation of cardiology, imaging and surgical joint ventures, establishment of shared diagnostic facilities, negotiation of various management relationships, and establishment of clinical co management and call coverage agreements. She is a frequent speaker at regional and national conferences, with recent speaking engagements on the topics of hospital acquisition of physician practices, provider-based status and under arrangements, health care reform legislation and Accountable Care Organizations.
