ROBERT A. BILOTT is a partner in the Environmental Law Practice Area of the Litigation Department at the law firm of Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP. Mr. Bilott has represented industrial and municipal clients, individuals, and large PRP groups in a widely diverse array of environmental, regulatory, and toxic tort matters pending before federal and state courts and administrative bodies across the country, including several of the nation's first mass tort and class action cases involving human exposures to perfluorochemicals, including PFOA/PFOS ("C-8") and PFBA. Mr. Bilott has provided counsel on matters involving hazardous, infectious and solid wastes, perfluorinated chemicals (PFCs), PCBs, asbestos, air and water pollution, toxic torts, including toxic trespass and battery to body/blood, class actions, mass tort/complex litigation, and multidistrict litigation. He also has assisted clients with obtaining environmental permits, and assists clients on environmental issues in connection with corporate transactions and real estate transfers. Mr. Bilott graduated from New College (B.A., political science/urban studies) and the Ohio State University College of Law (J.D, cum laude), where he served as managing editor of the Law Journal. Mr. Bilott has an AV Peer Review Rating, is listed in Best Lawyers in America, is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, is a member of the Cincinnati Academy of Leadership for Lawyers (CALL) Class V, and is one of the recipients of the 2005 Trial Lawyer of the Year Award given by The Trial Lawyers for Public Justice (TLPJ) Foundation. Since 2008, he has been named to the National Trial Lawyers Association's top 100 trial lawyers from Ohio, and he has been selected as a Leading Lawyer in Environmental Law. He was also selected by Cincinnati Magazine as a 2006 Super Lawyers Rising Star and is listed as an Ohio "Litigation Star" in Benchmark Plaintiff.
