STEVEN A. MARRER, a partner in the Cleveland office of Taft Stettinius & Hollister  LLP, received his bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University, and received his Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where he was the Executive Research Editor for the Journal of International Law and the Canada-U.S. Law Journal.  Steve practices in the areas of real estate development, and corporate real estate services.  He has experience representing developers in most aspects of commercial and industrial ownership and development, including the acquisition of undeveloped land and the installation of improvements for office, apartments and condominiums and shopping centers, the construction and leasing of buildings, the negotiation of reciprocal easement agreements for shopping centers, the acquisition of existing buildings and portfolios, the formation of public-private partnerships, and providing financing through conventional loans, tax incremental financing, community development authority and equity syndications.

Steve’s corporate real estate services work focuses on meeting the real estate needs of corporations and other institutions whose core business is outside the real estate industry.  These projects include single-occupant developments for pharmacy, insurance services, and other retail users. 

Steve is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and was selected by his peers as one of the 2008 Leading Lawyers of Northeast Ohio, and as one of the Best Lawyers in America for 2008.
