ED LEADER counsels clients in all aspects of the acquisition, disposition, financing, development, leasing, construction and exchanging of commercial, industrial, and multi-family real estate. Mr. Leader also serves as a business advisor to clients in structuring real estate and other investment transactions.  Mr. Leader’s experience includes commercial finance, loan workouts and foreclosures, real estate bankruptcy issues, tax valuation complaints, and the real estate aspects of corporate acquisitions, dispositions, and mergers. 

Mr. Leader's practice includes oil and gas exploration, leasing and production in the Utica and Marcellus Shale plays, with an emphasis in horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing or “fracking."  Mr. Leader’s experience includes negotiating oil and gas leases; handling title matters and due diligence; preparing and negotiating drilling contracts and supply and joint venture agreements; and the acquisition and sale of pipeline easements.  He also advises clients with respect to injection well drilling and brine disposal.

Mr. Leader is a frequent lecturer on real estate issues in Northeast Ohio, and serves on the Board of Directors for Ohio Stream Preservation, Inc. He is listed as one of the Best Lawyers in America for the practice of Real Estate Law and as an Ohio Super Lawyers Rising Star.  Mr. Leader is a member of the Ohio Oil and Gas Association and is a member of the Urban Land Institute.

Mr. Leader is also licensed to practice in the State of Florida.
