MARK JACOBS' practice is primarily devoted to commercial litigation in state and federal courts, including appellate litigation. His litigation experience includes cases involving disputes arising from business mergers and acquisitions, shareholder disputes, business torts, intellectual property licenses, real estate sales and acquisitions, title disputes, enforcement of surety bonds, construction disputes, and various other commercial matters. Mr. Jacobs also has experience in advising clients in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and entity formation matters. He has represented venture capital funds and entrepreneurs in transactions involving a variety of industries. Mr. Jacobs has also advised public and private companies on compliance with state and federal securities laws.

Mr. Jacobs received his B.A. in history from Washington University in St. Louis and earned his law degree from The Ohio State University College of Law, graduating cum laude. Mr. Jacobs is admitted to practice before the state courts of Ohio, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and for the Eastern District of Michigan.  He is a member of the American, Federal, Ohio State and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Associations.

Mr. Jacobs has twice been named co-chair of the Private Equity Subcommittee of the American Bar Association Litigation Section's Commercial & Business Litigation Committee. He is currently serving a term until September 2012 and also served from 2010 - 2011. He is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America - Northeast Ohio Chapter.
