GRETCHEN K. GUTMAN  has more than 20 years experience in the legislative and political arenas. Ms. Gutman's government service involves assisting government and business clients in developing legislative strategies (including bill-drafting) to effectively advocate their interests before local and state legislative and administrative bodies. She also handles regulatory compliance, gaming and other government transactions. She is widely recognized for her understanding of Indiana's School Finance system and property tax assessment and tax policy.

Ms. Gutman is licensed to practice law in Indiana. She has served as special counsel, underwriters counsel and bond counsel in various transactions related to the constructions of town hall, hospital, and university facilities.  In addition, Ms. Gutman has represented clients in numerous property tax appeal cases before local taxing authorities.  

Ms. Gutman joined the firm in 2002. Previously (2001-2002), she served as the Midwest Regional Manager for Mirant, an international energy company. Between 1993 and 2001, Ms. Gutman served as the chief advisory to the Senate Finance Committee of the Indiana General Assembly. She has worked in local government as the Public Finance Director for the Allen County Commissioners (1988-1989).

Ms. Gutman was named one of Indianapolis Business Journal's "Forty Under 40". She was also the recipient of Sagamore of the Wabash in 2001 and the Hall Render Killian Health & Lyman State and Local Tax Award in 1997.
