Jeffrey Graham is a partner in the Firm’s Bankruptcy, Business Restructuring and Creditor Rights Practice Group. He is Board Certified in Business Bankruptcy Law by the American Board of Certification and has been selected by Law and Politics Magazine as an Indiana Rising Star in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
Mr. Graham concentrates his practice in bankruptcy and creditors rights and has represented debtors, trustees and creditors both in and out of court across the country. He has extensive experience in the retail, logistics and agricultural industries. Representative engagements on behalf of debtors include the chapter 11 and 12 cases of ATA Airlines, Inc., B&T Farms, Buehler Foods, LLC, Crossroads USA Arena & Expo, Inc., Freight Masters Systems, Inc., Greater Diversified, Inc., Honey & Me, Inc. Hoosier Tradewinds, Inc., Lauth Investment Properties, Inc., L.O.I., Limited Partnership, M&S Precision Machine, Inc., Paul Harris Stores, Inc., R.L. Carter Trucking, Inc. and World Media Group, Inc. Mr. Graham also has extensive experience in representing secured creditors like AgStar Financial Services, ACA and The Broadbent Company in chapter 11, 12 and 7 proceedings nationwide. These representations have led to him negotiating and/or litigating numerous contested matters in bankruptcy courts across the nation including first day motions, motions for cash use, motions for debtor-in-possession financing, motions for relief from stay, motions to dismiss, motions for payment of administrative expenses, 363 sales on behalf of buyers and sellers, prosecution and defense of avoidance actions, and confirmation hearings.
Mr. Graham's experience has made him a frequent speaker and author in the bankruptcy and creditors’ rights area. He has presented seminars for the Indiana State Bar Association, Indianapolis Bar Association, Indiana Continuing Legal Education Fund, Indiana Association of Corporate Renewal, Lorman Education Services, and National Business Institute. He has also co-authored an article for the American Bankruptcy Institute Journal every year since 2001.
Mr. Graham is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Indiana State Bar Association, the Indianapolis Bar Association, the Seventh Circuit Bar Association, and the North Dakota Farmers Union. Board involvement includes the Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section of the Indianapolis Bar Association (2002-2008; Chairperson 2008) and the American Board of Certification (2011+). He is also a volunteer on the Bankrutpcy Pro Bono Panel for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Indiana.
Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Graham attended the University of Notre Dame and graduated cum laude in 1995 with a double major of English and Communications and Theater. He received is law degree from the Valparaiso University School of law, graduating summa cum laude in 1998 and serving as chief justice of the Moot Court Society. After law school Jeff served as law clerk for the Honorable S. Hugh Dillin, United States District Judge for the Southern District of Indiana, from 1998-2001.
