Mr. Williams focuses his practice on general business and tax matters for corporations, LLCs, partnerships, joint ventures and other business entities. These services include counseling and advice in the formation of a business (selection of the form of entity, capitalization with debt, equity or a combination, control agreements between owners), operation of a business (including property acquisition by purchase or lease, employment related matters, along with supplier and customer contract issues), growth of a business (either by a taxable or tax deferred acquisition or organic growth) and the disposition of a business or an interest in that business (in a taxable or tax deferred manner).
He brings to these client services his experience as a former officer and director of ADESA Corporation, a publicly traded company from 1992 to 1996, and his experience for the past 10 years as a director and chairman of the compensation committee of First Internet Bank of Indiana and a director of the Indiana Secondary Market for Education Loans, Inc. He has represented clients in court, as first chair in trial courts in Indiana and before the Indiana Court of Appeals.
Previously Mr. Williams has held positions as the Majority Attorney for both the Indiana House of Representatives and the Indiana State Senate. He also served as Chief Counsel to the Speaker of the House of Representatives for12 years, most recently in 2002.
Mr. Williams is active in the community and currently supports Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana, Inc. and Marian College.
