Catherine E. Howard
CATHERINE E. HOWARD is an associate in the Litigation Department of Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP. She received her undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Louisville. Ms. Howard received her law degree, graduating magna cum laude, from Salmon P. Chase College of Law where she served as the Northern Kentucky Law Review Symposium Editor. While in law school, she served as a Judicial Extern for Senior Judge William O. Bertelsman, United States District Court, Eastern District of Kentucky. Ms. Howard received the Judge Judy West Scholarship Award from the Northern Kentucky Bar Association in her final year of law school. The award recognizes a student with high academic achievement and who best exemplifies the attributes of Judge Judy West, the first woman to sit on the Kentucky Court of Appeals.
Ms. Howard's practice is focused on litigation matters. She is admitted to practice in the States of Ohio and Kentucky and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. She is a member of the firm's Professional Women's Resource Group (PWRG). Ms. Howard was honored as an Ohio Super Lawyers "Rising Star" in 2010, 2011 and 2012.
Ms. Howard has been involved in coaching high school mock trial since 2003, first at Princeton High School (2003-2007), then at Highlands High School (2006-2011). In 2008, she received the 2008 Law Day Award for outstanding contributions to Kentucky Law-Related Education after coaching Highlands to the 2008 Mock Trial State Championship. In addition, Ms. Howard served as a panelist on careers in the law for Regional Youth Leadership Law Day in 2010 and 2011. Ms. Howard is a 2009 Fellow of the Cincinnati Academy of Leadership for Lawyers, and a graduate of the Women Executive Peer Exchange Network (SOAR) Program.
